FIX: Memory Integrity is Off because E1G6032E.sys driver is incompatible on Windows 11.
If you cannot enable Memory Integrity in Windows Security, because of the incompatible device driver "E1G6032E.sys", continue below to resolve the problems.
Memory Integrity is a new security feature in Windows 10, 11 & Server 2016 or higher, that protects system memory from malicious attacks using Virtualization-Based Security (VBS). Memory integrity is turned on by default on most systems, however there are several reasons that may prevent this from happening.
More specifically, Memory Integrity can only be enabled when a computer meets the following minimum hardware capabilities:
- Processor:
- Intel 8th generation or later starting with Windows 11, version 22H2 (11th generation Core processors and newer only for Windows 11, version 21H2)
- AMD Zen 2 architecture and newer
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 8180 and newer
- RAM: Minimum 8GB (Only applicable for x64 processors)
- Storage: SSD with a minimum size of 64GB
- Drivers: Memory integrity-compatible drivers must be installed.
- BIOS: Virtualization must be enabled
Because, many users report that they cannot turn on Memory Integrity in Windows Security (Device Security > Core Isolation) because the driver "E1G6032E.sys" (Intel PRO/1000 MT Adapter) is not compatible, this guide contains detailed instructions to resolve the issue.
How to FIX: Cannot Turn On Memory Integrity because E1G6032E.sys is not compatible on Windows 11.
Step 1. Find Out if Intel PRO/1000 Adapter is installed.
Since the reported issue occurs even without an Intel PRO/1000 network adapter installed, first of all, find out whether or not you have the Intel PRO/1000 network adapter.
1. In Search type "device manager" and then open the Device Manager from the results.
2. In Device Manager, expand Network Adapters and check if the Intel PRO/1000 adapter is installed or not. Then, according the result, do the following:
- If the Intel PRO/1000 adapter is installed (like in screenshot below), proceed to Method-1.
- If the Intel PRO/1000 adapter is not installed and you're using another network adapter(like in screenshot below), follow the instructions in method-2 or method-3 below.
Method 1. Update Intel PRO/1000 Adapter Drivers.
The first method to resolve the issue is to install the latest drivers for the Intel PRO/1000 MT Adapter, using the Intel Driver & Support Assistant.
1. Download Intel Driver & Support Assistant (DSA).
2. When the download is complete, double-click on "Intel-Driver-and-Support-Assistant-Installer" and Install the program.
3. After Installation click Launch to open the Intel Driver & Support Assistant.
4. Finally, check if there a newer driver version for the Intel® PRO/1000 Desktop Adapter and if so, proceed to install it.
5. After updating the driver, try enabling the Memory Integrity.
* Notes:
1. If the "Intel Driver & Support Assistant" cannot find an updated driver for your network card, go to your device manufacturer's support website, and see if you can find a newer driver for your device there.
2. If either the manufacturer has an updated driver, then I would advise you to purchase and replace your network card with a newer one.
Method 2. Delete E1G6032E.sys driver with Autoruns.
If you don't have an Intel PRO/1000 network adapter, then proceed and remove the "E1G6032E.sys" driver from your system, as instructed below.*
* Important: Use this solution only if you don't own an Intel PRO/1000 Adapter.
1. Download Autoruns from Microsoft.
2. When the download is complete, extract the "Autoruns.zip" file.
3. Then, right-click at "Autoruns" application and select Run as administrator.
4. In Autoruns, navigate to Drivers tab and then click Options and click to uncheck the Hide Windows Entries.
5. Locate in the list the E1G60 entry, then right-click on it and select Delete. Then click OK to confirm your decision. *
* Note: If after pressing OK you receive the message "Failed to delete E1G60", then restart your computer in Safe Mode and then try to delete the driver again with Autoruns.
6. After removing the driver, restart your PC and then turn on Memory Integrity.
Method 3. Delete E1G6032E.sys driver Manually.
If you cannot remove E1G6032E.sys with Autoruns, or if after deleting it you still cannot enable Memory Integrity, proceed and remove it also from the following locations:
- C:\Windows\System32\drivers
- C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\nete1g3e.inf_amd64_1bcc7029f170b19a
- C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_dual_nete1g3e.inf_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.26100.1_none_a311a7a5646b760b
To do this, easily:
1. In File Explorer, expand This PC on the left and select the Local Disk (C:)
2. Type in Search "E1G6032E.sys" and press Enter.
3. Press CTRL + A to select all occurrences of the file "E1G6032E.sys" and press Delete to remove all of them.
4. Restart your PC and then turn on Memory Integrity.
That's it! Which method worked for you?

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Memory Integrity in Windows Security?
Memory Integrity is a security feature in Windows 10, 11, and Server 2016 or higher that uses Virtualization-Based Security (VBS) to protect system memory from malicious attacks.
Why might I be unable to enable Memory Integrity on my Windows device?
Memory Integrity can only be enabled if your computer meets specific hardware requirements like an Intel 8th generation or later processor, a minimum of 8GB RAM, SSD with at least 64GB capacity, and compatible drivers. Additionally, the BIOS needs to have virtualization enabled.
How can the E1G6032E.sys driver prevent enabling Memory Integrity and how can I fix it?
The E1G6032E.sys driver (Intel PRO/1000 MT Adapter) may be incompatible, blocking Memory Integrity activation. If installed, update the drivers using Intel's Driver & Support Assistant. If not installed, remove the driver using Autoruns by Microsoft.
What should I do if the Intel Driver & Support Assistant doesn't find an updated driver for my network card?
Visit your device manufacturer's support website to check for a newer driver. If you can't find one, consider purchasing and replacing your network card with a newer model.
